Volleyball falls in 2 of 3 matches; goalie Budani grabs saves record
The Eastern Michigan volleyball team dropped two of its three matches at the Davidson Invitational this past weekend in North Carolina. The Eagles defeated host Davidson 3-2, but were unable to get past Boise State and High Point University.
Eagles’ players Jenn Swartz and Kristen Baker made the all-tournament team.
Eastern Michigan returns home this week for its home opener against Youngstown State at 7 p.m. tomorrow. The Eagles are 11-3.
Senior goalkeeper Monique Budani set an all-time saves record at Eastern Michigan Saturday in a loss to Nevada. Budani made her 315th career save, but her stops were not enough. The Eagles were outshot 23-8 by the Wolf Pack and lost 3-0. The Eagles’ are 3-5-1. The previous saves record was 312 by Nikki Allen in 2004.
