The Eastern Michigan University Police Department is continuing to investigate the reported assault and robbery that occurred at 11:45 a.m. March 29 in Phelps Hall, but EMU Police Chief Greg O’Dell said the victim is not cooperating.
“At this point, we’re having problems with the investigation,” O’Dell said. “We can’t get our victim to come in. We want to get a composite drawing of the suspect, but the victim is refusing to come in and work on that with the officers.”
With only a description, information which the police released the afternoon of the stabbing, it is difficult to continue the investigation, although they are trying other things to try to bring the alleged attacker into custody.
“We’ve reviewed hours of the video tape,” O’Dell said. “We were unable to see anyone close to the suspect’s description on tape.”
The Police Department has also conducted a community meeting in an effort to find the suspect.
“There have been several trips into Phelps-Sellers to ask if anyone has seen anyone of that description,” he said. “No one reports having seen anyone of that description.”
