Spring is here. You know what that means, right? It’s finally time to wear those bright colors again. Forget neutrals – This season, it is all about vibrant colors and lots of shimmer. Here are some of my favorite nail polish trends for the spring/summer:
“Big Apple Red”- OPI
If traditional shades are more of your style, you’re going to love this color. “Big Apple Red” is definitely a bright, candy-apple red. I like to think of “Big Apple Red” as a go-to color, because you can never go wrong with the perfect shade of red.
It’s just an all-around timeless, classic shade that will never go out of style. It instantly makes any outfit look polished. Finding that perfect shade of red can be difficult, but “Big Apple Red” is a true red. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.
“Pedal Faster Suzi!”- OPI
At first glance, this shade looks like a shimmery pink, but when you take a closer look, you’ll notice there’s a bit of lavender in there as well. That being said, “Pedal Faster Suzi” is a beautiful combination of pink, lavender and a hint of shimmer.
This shade is soft enough to wear to work but still be noticeable. If you love pink, then you’ll love this new spin on a classic shade.

“I Eat Mainly Lobster”- OPI*
You don’t have to eat lobster to fall in love with this color. If you’ve been searching for the perfect coral, then look no further. “I Eat Mainly Lobster” is a pinkish-orange color with gold micro glitter, making this shade of coral extra special.
Interestingly enough, this shade works well when you’re making the transition from summer to fall. It’s bright enough to wear during the summer, but subtle enough to blend in with the fall leaves. This is a must have in my spring/summer collection.
“June”- Chanel le vernis
“June” has got to be one of my favorite colors to wear during the spring/summer. I fell in love with this color the moment I laid eyes on it. I know that might sound a little dramatic, but this shade is just that great. It’s like having orange sherbet ice cream on your nails. Honestly, that’s the best way I can describe this shade.
I know a lot of people tend to stay away from orange, but this particular shade is very flattering and will actually compliment your skin tone. Not to mention, orange is very popular this season.

“Need Sunglasses?”-OPI*
You’ll definitely need to wear sunglasses when you see this bright yellow nail polish. Yellow is another color people are afraid to wear, we’ve all been brainwashed to think yellow nail polish is tacky.
I’m here to tell you yellow is making a comeback, but don’t take my word for it. Even the biggest celebrities like Rihanna and Katy Perry have been spotted rocking yellow nail polish on the red carpet.
Nail polish is supposed to be fun, so don’t be afraid to try this shade. It might take a little getting used to, but I think you’ll end up loving it just like I did.

“Navigate Her”-Essie*
This beautiful, pistachio green will navigate its way to your heart. To be completely honest, I was a little hesitant about purchasing this color, as I tend to be with most green nail polishes.
When I first wore this shade on my nails, I wasn’t sure what to think. I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t exactly love it either. It took some getting used to, but after a week I knew this shade was a keeper. We’re going to see a lot of pale shades this spring, so get ahead of the game and pick up this beautiful color.

“I Don’t Give a Rotterdam”-OPI*
For all you film buffs out there, congratulations if you recognized the reference to the famous quote from the 1939 classic film “Gone With the Wind” when Rhett tells Scarlett, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
“I Don’t Give a Rotterdam” is not a color you see too often on nails, but that’s the very reason I love it. This shade reminds me so much of blue jeans and once you see this color, you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
If you’re hesitant about wearing blue nail polish, this is a great way to ease your way into blues because this shade isn’t too bold, but actually quite subtle. I would describe “I Don’t Give a Rotterdam” as a shimmery periwinkle color.
_Tip: Always apply OPI’s natural nail base coat before painting your nails. This step is highly recommended because it really does prevent yellowing of the nails.
Also, apply Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat after painting your nails for a glossy, chip-free manicure.

Note: All colors mentioned look beautiful on all skin tones.
