The Eastern Michigan University Advising and Career Development Center is sponsoring the Fall Major Fest Monday, Oct. 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.

At the event, students can learn about major and minor requirements, affiliated student organizations and the types of careers they could pursue within a certain major.

There will be representatives from more than 25 various academic departments, and students who attend the event can earn Learning Beyond the Classroom credit.

Upon arrival, students will be given a passport and must interact with at least four different departments and get stamped before they can be eligible for LBC credit.

There will also be games with prizes and a raffle.

EMU currently has 1,100 students who have not declared a major. The UACDC recognized some students may not feel comfortable seeing an advisor, so the center created the event to provide a venue and atmosphere where students could feel at ease discussing majors they may want to explore.

Students with questions can contact Amy Johnson at amy.johnson@emich.edu.
