Grand Rapids, Mich. native and Eastern Michigan University sophomore Bronson Hill, number 30 on EMU’s football team, turned heads with his breakout performance against the Toledo Rockets.
With 294 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns against the Rockets, followed by 252 total yards and a touchdown a week later against Army, Hill showed that he was here to stay.
Hill has been playing football since age 7, but in high school he also earned varsity letters in basketball and track.
In addition to playing those sports, Hill said basketball and football are his favorite professional sports. His favorite professional athlete is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.
As an accounting major, Hill said he hopes to get a job as an accountant after he graduates from EMU. His favorite subject so far is math.

“He can make you laugh off the smallest things,” Hoskins said.
This cold weather we’re having right now doesn’t sit well with Hill, as his favorite time of year is summer.
“I like going to the beach with friends,” he said.
His favorite actor is Denzel Washington, known for the various and diverse roles he plays in many movies. Washington also stars in Hill’s favorite movie “The Inside Man.”
Hill is proud of his academic accomplishments so far in his brief time at EMU, and especially for keeping his GPA above 3.0.
Hill said on campus his favorite place to go eat is DC1, better known as The Commons.
Growing up, Hill said his favorite TV show was the Nickelodeon cartoon “Rugrats.” His tastes have changed significantly since then. His favorite show is now the FOX drama “Lie to Me.”
Hill also enjoys music. He said his favorite genres are hip-hop and rhythm and blues and his favorite artist is R&B legend Luther Vandross.
Hill has a soft spot in his heart for his mother, who he said is his biggest role model.
“She has overcome a lot of adversity and made a lot of sacrifices for me to be where I am right now,” he said.
