Students take out stress from finals on old piano

EMU and the American String Teachers Association held a campus piano smash April 18.

On April 18th, Eastern Michigan University hosted its very first Piano Smash, courtesy of the American String Teachers Association at EMU. The piano, which was deemed unsalvageable, was taken from Jones Hall by ASTA at EMU, who volunteered to dispose of the piano for free.

Music majors and non-music majors alike lined up to pay a dollar to take out their stress on the instrument with a five pound sledgehammer.
