Feb. 21
Police were called to Westview Apartments at 12:54 a.m. for a noise complaint. After being issued a verbal warning, the offending parties quieted down and no citations were issued.
Feb. 22
During a room inspection over spring vacation, drug paraphernalia was found in a room in Walton
Residence Hall at 1:42 p.m. The paraphernalia was confiscated and the room’s occupant may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct.
Students from Belleville High School and Lincoln High School were arrested for assault and battery resulting from an altercation that occurred at the Convocation Center at 6:13 p.m. The matter has been forwarded to the county prosecutor’s office.
A driver was pulled over on suspicion of driving under the influence while swerving in and out of traffic at 11:14 p.m. at North Huron River Drive and Hewitt Road. They were cited for driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia and forced to abandon their vehicle. The case is ongoing.
Feb. 25
A subject was arrested for larceny and resisting arrest when he was observed attempting to break into a vehicle at Cornell Court Apartments at 11:24 p.m. The subject fled from police and was apprehended at College Heights. The subject had prior warrants out for his arrest and was picked up by another police department. This case remains open.
Feb. 26
Police detained a suspect who was posing as a student while he was trespassing at Warner Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. Stolen textbooks were found in his possession and he was arrested. This case remains open.
Police pulled a woman over at North Huron River Drive and Superior Road. at 10:13 p.m. on a traffic violation. After finding out the woman had existing warrants out for her arrest, officers discovered drug paraphernalia from the resulting search of her vehicle. She was released from custody and the paraphernalia was confiscated. This case remains open.
Feb. 27
Officers investigating a complaint at the WEMU radio tower discovered a padlock that had been cut off the entrance gate at 1:25 p.m. This investigation is ongoing.
March 1
Police responded to a burglary call at Wise Residence Hall at 12:30 p.m. A student’s keys were stolen from his room. The case remains open.
Officers arrested a man for public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at the Convocation Center at 1:00 p.m. This case remains open.
March 2
Police discovered a female student unconscious in a snow bank at West Circle Drive and Oakwood Street at 4:43 a.m. She was suffering from severe weather exposure and was taken to the hospital by HVA. The student may face discipline under the Student Code of Conduct.
March 3
Officers responded to a larceny call at the Rec/IM at 5:00 p.m. A student’s iPod was stolen from where he left it while the student went to get a drink of water. This case remains open.
Police were called to Putnam Residence Hall at 10:33 p.m. Articles of clothing were reported stolen from an unattended washing machine. This investigation is ongoing.
March 4
A parcel of mail was reported stolen from the Student Center at 8:06 a.m. The item was left for parcel-pick-up and never arrived at its intended destination. This case remains open.
Officers responded to a larceny call at Rec/IMat 10:32 a.m. A student’s wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker. This case remains open.
A female resident reported money stolen from her purse at Wise Residence Hall at 11:15 p.m. Police have multiple suspects and are investigating the matter.
