Women’s golf finishes in top 10

The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team nabbed a top-10 finish at the University of Arkansas Little Rock Golf Classic. The tournament was held in Hot Springs, Ark. over a two-day period, March 24-25.

This was the Eagles’ sixth top-10 finish of the season. EMU finished in ninth place shooting 954 as a team.

Eastern had four golfers represented in the top 50— Sylvie Williams, Corey Crossan, Karyn Lee Ping, and Kelsey Murphy.

Tenth place at the Mary Fossum Invitational held in East Lansing, Mich.

Ninth place at the Nittany Lion Invitational held in University Park, Pa.

T-third place at the MAC Preview held in Fishers, Ind.

T-eighth place at the Jim West Challenge held in New Braunfels, Texas.

Seventh place at the Rio Verde Invitational held in Rio Verde, Ariz.

Top-3 Teams

Middle Tennessee State University finished the tournament in first place shooting 921 as a team.

Oral Roberts University finished the tournament in second place shooting 930 as a team.

Wichita State University finished the tournament in third place shooting 931 as a team.

After the first round, the Eagles were in 15th place having shot 326 as a team. Middle Tennessee was in first place after shooting 306 as a team.

After round two, the Eagles improved to 13th place shooting 640 as a team. Middle Tennessee remained in first place along with Wichita State. They both shot 617 as teams through two rounds.

In round three, the Eagles managed to push themselves and improve to a ninth place spot on the leaderboards.
