*Alumni Art Exhibition*
The Ford Gallery will play host to Alumni to play catch up with the formers of EMU’s Art Department with a reception on Sept. 17 from 4-7 p.m., with the exhibit open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 18, through the following week. This LBC approved exhibit will showcase the recent art the alums have done since their departure from the program.
*Night at The Carnival*
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, the Commons will be hosting a “Night at The Carnival” food night. All your favorite carnival foods will be served to create a variety for your taste buds. Price for entry into the Commons for the event is $9.70 with cash and credit and $7.50 with your flex or meal plan transfer.
*Clarifying Misconceptions About Islam*
Dawud Walid and Ahlam Issa will be leading a talk on misrepresented information based on the Islamic way of life. Walid is from CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) as their executive director, and Issa is an educator. The LBC Approved Talk will be at 6:30 p.m. in the McKenny Hall Ballroom.
*Dating and Sexual Violence: The Law, Investigations and Prosecutions*
DPS Crime Prevention has paired up with the Washtenaw County Prosecutors to lecture on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. They will touch on how the criminal justice system operates, the legal aspects, survivors, and prosecution of such acts. This talk will take place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sept. 22 in the Student Center, room 300.
*Friday Night Movie: Neighbors*
A set of new parents will experience the trials and issues after they are roped into living near a fraternity house. There will be two showings at 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. this Friday, and the showing is free and open to the public.
