Al Madrigal, stand-up comedian and correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” will perform at Progress Michigan’s Stand Up For Progress fundraiser at 7:30 p.m., June 3, at the Rackham Graduate School Auditorium, 915 East Washington St.
Madrigal works as the Senior Latino Correspondent for The Daily Show. He has worked there since 2011. He has also made appearances on other comedy shows, including “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Lopez Tonight” and “Conan.”
Special guest Kathie Dunbar, Lansing city council member, will also provide entertainment. Mark Boyd will emcee the show as The Fake Rick Snyder.
“People can expect to have a good time laughing at good comedy and enjoying the company of others who want to make Michigan a more progressive state,” said Lonnie Scott, Progress Michigan’s executive director.
The money from the fundraiser will go towards supporting the work of Progress Michigan. Scott said it is a 501(c)(4) organization, which operates for the promotion of social welfare.
Progress Michigan has “a mission of holding public officials accountable and promoting progressive policies for the state of Michigan,” said Scott.
Tickets can be purchased at the Michigan Union Ticket Office, 530 South State St., or online. Tickets are $35. Students are eligible for discounted tickets at $25.
