Graffiti was found at 8:25 a.m. on the side of James-Goddard by workers from the Physical Plant. The chalk, DPS said, involved nothing derogatory and has been cleaned off.
DPS conducted a regular traffic stop at the corner of LeForge and Railroad street at 1:33 p.m. One of the two people in the car, neither of whom were EMU students, gave the police a false name because they had traffic warrants for their arrest the subjects were issued citations for obstructing police.
Five non-EMU students were found smoking marijuana at 5:53 p.m., Thursday in the College of Business parking structure. DPS found them in a stairwell and took them off campus.
Friday, Nov. 13
DPS pulled over what they said was a suspicious vehicle at 1:40 a.m. at the corner of Ballard and Washtenaw. One of the two non-EMU students in the car fit the description of a man wanted for bench warrants in Pittsfield township. DPS arrested the passenger. They had a small amount of marijuana and they were cited for paraphernalia.
A man was pulled over for drunk driving at 2:19 a.m. at the corner of Forrest & River. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Saturday, Nov. 14
A student called DPS for their roommate at 12:20 a.m. in Hill Hall. According to the EMU crime log, the “subject became ill after consuming a marijuana brownie.” DPS said they took the student to St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital. The case has been turned over to student conduct.
Sunday, Nov. 15
A security guard in the Village reported one female student carrying another into building D at 12:58 a.m. They were both intoxicated and underage, according to DPS. They took the unconscious student to St. Joseph Mercy's Hospital. The case has been turned over to the Office of Student Conduct.
DPS assisted the Ypsilanti Police Department in an aggravated assault at 2:23 a.m., Sunday, around the corner of Catherine and Adams Street. DPS would not comment further on the case.
A student's Trek Bicycle was reported stolen at 7:46 p.m., Sunday. The student secured their bike at Cornell Courts. The theft is believed to have happened between 12:35 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. that day. There are a limited number of cameras in that area but DPS is reviewing footage. This case remains open.
