The Quirk-Spongberg Theatre will be hosting the Interp/Performance Studies Program at 4 p.m. The topic for the night, closure, will be explored through dance, song, slam poetry, performance art and puppetry. The free and LBC approved show will include original works by students, staff and professors.
The Women's Resource Center will be hosting a Hot Topics discussion at 5 p.m. in the Student Center Room 301. According to the EMU calendar, the talk will “provide a space for dialogue on feminist, women’s and gender issues in current events.” This will be free and LBC approved.
Lyric Lounge will be held at 9:00 p.m. in the Student Center Room 300. This Slam Poetry night was made in cooperation between Campus Life and the Poetry Society. EMU After Dark described it as an event that “provides a space to explore the most relevant topics of our generation.”
Friday, Dec. 4
EMU’s Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Teams will be hosting an Invitational competition at 3:30 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Jones pool. This is free to all students.
Anne of Green Gables will be showing at 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday in Quirk Theater. This “spunk literary classic for ages 6+” was written by Sylvia Ashby. According to the theater, it is “a contemporary telling of the book written by L. M. Montgomery.” It is directed by Christine Tanner. Adult tickets for the 2-hour play are $15, students and seniors pay $12 and $9 main stage.
The Cinderella Ballet will play all day Friday in Pease Auditorium. The matinee goes from 10-12:15 p.m. and is free, but requires a reservation. The main performances at 7:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. will be $10 a ticket. This live, fine arts performance is LBC approved.
Saturday, Dec. 5
The Mark-Jefferson Planetarium will be playing “The Little Star That Could” at 1 p.m., Saturday. According to the EMU calendar, this is about “an average yellow star on a search for planets of his own to warm and protect.” Tickets are $5.
EMU's wrestling team will be playing against Buffalo at 2 p.m. in the Bowen Field House. This free event is a MAC matchup.
