The drummer’s light tap and the vocalist’s melodic tone complimented the steady murmur of conversation. The lights were dimmed. The atmosphere was relaxed and the light refreshments, coupled with the friendly catering staff, added to the ambience.
Campus Life transformed room 300 of the Student Center into the epitome of upscale nightlife for their Sky Lounge event.
Adam Baraka, EMU sophomore said, “It’s good to see people dance and unwind after a long week. A good atmosphere and a typical Eastern event.”
Reoccurring on Thursday nights, Campus Life’s theme rotation provides a new lounge that provides a new experience and caters to a different audience. The sequence of Thursday night events will be the Laugh Lounge, Lyric Lounge, Open Mic Lounge and then the next Sky Lounge will be held on March 17.
For the Jazz and swing enthusiasts with free time on a Thursday evening, throw on a spiffy outfit, bring a group of friends and see where the improvisations take you.
Alexis Brown, a freshman pursuing communications and arts management, said, “The vibe is nice and the people are friendly. I really enjoy watching people dance and have fun. There are a lot of different kinds of people here.”
