The Snow Health Center hosts Monday Mindfulness every Monday. This is a drop-in meditation and relaxation service provided by Counseling and Psychological Services. The Monday, Feb. 1 session will take place from 12:10 p.m. to 12:50 p.m. at 313 Snow.
EMU’s Biology Department is looking for a new staff member in the Molecular/Cell Biology office. Candidate Hannah Seidel will have a chance to make her case, Monday, at 3:30 p.m. She will be giving a presentation on “Nutritional Control of Germline Stem Cells in the Roundworm c.elegans,” in Mark-Jefferson room 154. The Red Cross will be having its annual Charles Drew Blood Drive at the Rec/IM Tuesday. The 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. drive is hosted by the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Interested donors must contact Jaborious Ball to register.
The Interp/Performance Studies Program will be focusing on love in its performance hour Tuesday evening. The 5:00 p.m. show, Love is in the Air, will have everything from slam poetry, to performance art to singing from theater students, professors and staff. It’s free and LBC approved.
Eastern’s men’s basketball team will be playing the Miami Redhawks, Tuesday, at the Convocation Center. The game starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets will be $12.
EMU’s 2016 internship fair will be taking place in the Student Center ballroom Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Students from all majors, from freshmen to doctoral candidates, will be welcomed free. This will allow students to meet the people offering these internships and decide which to apply to.
14.7 percent of people in Washtenaw County deal with food insecurity, according to the Ann Arbor-based food charity Food Gatherers. The Vision Volunteer Center will be holding a talk called Food Justice: A Community Conversation. It will be in the Student Center’s room 350 at 4:30 p.m., Wednesday. This is free and LBC approved.
