On Tuesday Jan. 23, the Delta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the Department of Africology and African American Studies will host Town Hall Meet & Greet with newly-appointed regent of Eastern Michigan University’s Board of Regents, Alexander Simpson. The meet and greet is from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
Also on Tuesday, the College of Health & Human Services is sponsoring a blood drive for the American Red Cross from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
On Thursday Jan. 25, Campus Life will be hosting Sky Lounge from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Student Center, room 300.
Also on Thursday, the EMU Philosophy Speaker Series continues with White Moral Blindness and the Importance of Experiencing Racial Oppression, facilitated by Professor Meena Krishnamurthy. The conversation is from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Halle Library, Rm 300.
On Monday Jan. 30, the Faculty Development Center will be hosting a workshop, Uncomfortable Discussions: Teaching Race in the Classroom: Becoming “Color Brave.” The event is from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 in Halle Library, room 109B.
TRANScending the Cistem will be held from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. in the Student Center, room 310. This is an event geared towards empowering transgender, gender nonconforming and gender-questioning folks while also providing a space for cisgender people to learn and grow.
