Eastern Michigan senior forward Danielle Minott earned honorable mention All-MAC honors, alongside Oshlynn Brown (Ball State), Kendall McCoy (Miami OH), Mikaela Boyd (Toledo) and Deja Wimby (Western Michigan). Minott averaged 13.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in her senior season.

Minott had one of the most memorable nights in school history when the Eagles hosted Buffalo in the Convocation Center January 9, 2019. She had a career-high 43 points, 14 made fields, seven made 3-pointers and 12 rebounds. She was nearly unstoppable in the overtime thriller. Minott was also 8-12 from the free throw line in that game.

Another great night during Minott’s senior campaign was when Eastern Michigan defeated Illinois-Chicago Nov. 27, 2018 at the Convocation Center. Minott dominated on the defensive end of the floor, totaling a season-high six steals, while also adding 16 points, four rebounds and one block.

Minott’s final game in an Eastern Michigan jersey happened March 13, 2019 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. The Eagles faced Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament quarter finals. Minott totaled 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals, while hitting 2-4 from 3-point range and 2-2 from the free-throw line. She played an incredible game on both ends of the floor but it just wasn’t enough.

The Eagles fell 88-80 in overtime after Minott fouled out with just over three minutes remaining. Reyna Frost, the MAC Player of the Year, had 28 points, 13 rebounds and three assists in the victory for Central Michigan.

“There’s a lot of high expectations for [Frost],” Minott said. “Very high expectations for me. It only makes sense for us to go at it on the biggest stage in the MAC right now. Both of us had to really focus on playing our best defense, our best offense, against the best player on the other team. She’s a great player, credit to her. I thought I did a great job on her. And things worked out the way it did.”

Although Minott’s career didn’t end the way she wanted it to, she had a great two-year run with the Eagles. Minott finished her senior season averaging 13.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game on 32.3 percent shooting from the field in 33.1 minutes per game. Because of her hard work, Minott has earned all-MAC honors for the second straight year.
