Campus area crime: Nov. 7 through Nov. 20

The campus–area crime map is a report of criminal activity that has been reported in the Ypsilanti-area as well as on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.

Crime list:

Nov. 20 - A sexual assault was reported to the EMU Police on Nov. 20, 2020. The alleged crime occurred on March 28, 2020 at approximately midnight on Oakwood Street. The case is closed.

Nov. 16 - A locked bike was reported as stolen to EMU Police. The alleged crime occurred at EMU’s Cornell Courts apartments, building B. The crime took place between Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 2:15 p.m. The case is still open.

Nov. 16 - A vehicle was reported as fleeing or eluding police near the intersection of Roosevelt Street and Cornell Road at 7:16 p.m. The suspect's vehicle did not stop for police. The case is still open.

Nov. 13 - An obscene pornographic image was reported as being shared to the social media platform Discord. The incident was reported to EMU Police. The incident occurred on Nov. 12, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. The case is still open.

Nov. 12 - A sexual assault was reported anonymously, allegedly occurring at the Downing Residence Hall. The assault occurred between Oct. 25 and Oct. 31, 2020. The case is closed.

Nov. 12 - A suspect was reported to have committed multiple infractions during a traffic stop on Nov. 12, at 5:34 p.m. The suspect was near the intersection of Leforge Road and Huron River Drive. Police listed: resisting an officer; fleeing or eluding police; failure to appear; driving without an operating license; driving without vehicle insurance; and driving with a suspended license as crimes committed by the suspect. The case is closed as of Nov. 18, 2020.

Nov. 11 - Multiple sexual assaults were reported to Eastern Michigan University police on Nov. 11. The alleged crimes took place between Dec. 1, 2016 and May 31, 2019. It appears the same individual reported all of the cases. 12 separate sexual assaults were reported to have taken place on Ballard Street in the period of time. All of the cases are closed.

Nov. 11- Three sexual assaults were reported to have taken on Lowell Street between Oct. 1 and Oct. 31, 2016; April 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017; and Oct. 1, 2017 and Oct. 31, 2017. It appears the same individual reported all three alleged assaults. All of the cases are closed.

Nov. 11 - An indecent exposure was reported as having taken place during the June 2017. The alleged crime took place on North Normal Street. The incident was reported to police on Nov. 11, 2020. The case is closed.

Nov. 11 - An individual report an alleged off campus domestic assault was reported to campus police on Nov. 11, 2020. The alleged crime took place during the April 2017. The assault occurred on Lowell Street. The case is closed.

Nov. 10 - Larceny was reported at Putnam Residence Hall occurring on Nov 3. between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The crime was reported as "larceny from a building". This case is still open.

Nov. 9 - EMU police assisted the Ypsilanti Police Department with a possible assault on Nov. 9, 2020. The crime occurred on or near Pearl Street, off of campus, at 3:12 p.m. The case is still open.

Nov. 8 - EMU police assisted YPD with a disorderly subject on North Huron Street at 12:32 a.m. The case is closed.

Nov. 7 - An individual was shot in the abdomen near the intersection of Spring Street and South Huron Street. EMU Police assisted officers from the YPD at the scene. The shooting occurred on Nov. 7, at 10:53 a.m. The case is still open.
