A broken up pass from Alex Gillett to Garrett Hoskins on forth-down brought a close to the Eastern Michigan University football team’s season as it took an 18-12 loss to Northern Illinois.

The Husky rush attack is what set them apart in the game, as they gained 188 yards on the ground with 37 carries compared to EMU’s 133 yards on 48 carries.

Junior quarterback Gillett led the Eagles with 147 passing yards going 11-25-0 in the air and connecting on one touchdown with Nick Olds who led the receiving game with five receptions for 50 yards. The Eagles’ run game was led by Gillett who had 17 carries for 67 yards. Dominique Sherrer added 43 yards on 16 carries.

The Eagles close out their 2011 campaign with a 6-6 (4-4 MAC) record. The Huskies finish the regular season with a 9-3 (7-1 MAC) record and will prepare to take on the University of Ohio in the MidAmerican Conference Championship on Friday, December 2 at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan. Kick off is set for 6 p.m.
