The Eastern Michigan University Eagles defeated the Toledo Rockets by a score of 54-33 on Feb. 21 at the Convocation Center.

The Eagles were able to shoot 39 percent from the field goal range and 17 percent from beyond the arc. The team was able to shoot 83 percent from the free throw line. The Eagles grabbed 39 total rebounds and 16 steals.

Tavelyn James scored 20 points for the Eagles. Paige Redditt scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Natachia Watkins finished the game with ten points and recorded five rebounds.

The Rockets shot 35 percent from the field goal range. The team shot eight percent from the arc and 43 percent from the free throw line. The Rockets snagged five steals and 27 total rebounds.

Yolanda Richardson was the lead scorer for the Rockets scoring 18 points. She was also the lead rebounder with nine. Lecretia Smith scored five points for the team and Andola Dortch brought down six rebounds.

The Eagles stay home for their next game Feb. 25 when they will play against Ball State. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
