Are you new to The Eastern Echo? Are you an Echo veteran wanting to hone your skills? Have you always wanted to be a journalist but weren’t sure where to begin? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, be a part of the very first writing workshop at noon on Friday, Feb. 14. The workshop will be held in the Echo office, located on the second floor of King Hall.

Krystal Elliott, a former Echo news and life writer, currently works as a reporter for the Ypsilanti Courier. She will be teaching the basics of news writing, including what information goes into a news story and what makes something news-worthy in the first place.

The workshop is open to anyone who is interested. Refreshments will be provided.
