EMU President Martin: Pay freeze for all employees not under union contracts
Eastern Michigan University President Susan Martin released an April update detailing “initial actions” the university plans to take—such as implementing a pay freeze for the 2011-2012 fiscal year for all employees not under union contract— in response to Governor Rick Snyder’s proposed 15 percent reduction in state funding.

EMU reports security breach to computer server: employees with direct deposit urged to monitor accounts
Last night, Eastern Michigan University released an e-mail to the community announcing a security breach at 11:30 p.m. Friday in an EMU server controlling my.emich passwords and PIN codes.

EagleMail changes to be made Friday night
Eastern Michigan University’s data center will be shut down Friday night as the IT department will make changes to EagleMail, which include separate tabs for e-mail messages, automatic spell check and read receipt requests.

Updated: Starkweather construction leaves four campus buildings without water

New Michigan smoking regulations to take effect

To clear up any misconceptions: The story is about the stimulus package.

Adjuncts pack seats at regents meeting
Clad in buttons reading “No Lecturer Left Behind” and taking up more than three rows in 201 Welch Hall, members of EMU’ s Adjunct Lecturers’ Organizing Committee, or ALOC, made their presence known at Tuesday’s regents meeting. Two adjuncts made public remarks to the regents, explaining their decision to form a union.
