The hopefuls will debate this evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Student Center dining area.

The first set of candidates are Antonio Cosme and Muayad Mahmoud. Cosme is running for student body president and Mahmoud is Cosme’s running mate.

Cosme is a senior political science and economics major.Currently, he is the director for political action for Student Government.He is also serving as the student programmer at the Center for Multicultural Affairs.

Cosme previously served as the president of the Latino Students Association.

Mahmoud is a senior political science and public administration major.He is currently the director of student relations for student government.

He is also the current vice president of the United Nations student alliance.He is the former vice president for the Muslims Student Association and he currently is their public relations coordinator.

One of the pair’s main focus is keeping tuition costs as low as possible.

The other candidate duo is KiAntae Byers running for president and Douglas L. Brinker for vice president.

Byers is currently serving on the Business and Finance Committee.

Brinker serves on the Student Relations Committee.

If elected,Byers and Brinker plan to combat the retention rate issue facing EMU.

Voting will take place March 24 and 25.

The online voting will began at 8:00 a.m. and end at 8:00 p.m., March 25.
