A man considered to be a person of interest in a sexual assault and home invasion that took place in the residence of an EMU student this morning has been arrested by the Ypsilanti police.

According to the police,the suspect is under investigation for this morning’s incident and other home invasions.

A release said the man will remain in custody as the investigation continues.

The Ypsilanti Police are investigating a robbery and criminal sexual assault that reportedly took place at 10:30 a.m. in the 600 block of West Cross Street. The victim involved in the case is an EMU student. The victim awoke to find the suspect with a knife. The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and fled on foot from the location.
