Eastern Michigan University has announced it will cancel Tuesday evening classes beginning at 5 p.m., and all day and evening classes on Wednesday.

Because of the predicted extreme weather and blizzard warning, set to begin at 7 p.m., EMU President Susan Martin decided to cancel classes and delay all planned campus activities, lectures and events—with the exception of the Men’s Basketball game at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Convocation Center.

In a statement, Martin said safety was her main concern.

“The safety and well being of our students, faculty and staff is our number one priority,” Martin said.

Classes are scheduled to be held on Thursday, but if severe weather persists, a decision would be posted no later than 6 a.m. on Thursday on emich.edu.
