At approximately 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, a bomb threat was called into the Starbucks located at 3601 Washtenaw Avenue in Ann Arbor. The restaurant workers then phoned the police.

Five cars, eight officers and two bomb-sniffing dogs were dispatched to the scene. At approximately 4:30 p.m. Ann Arbor police forced an evacuation of Starbucks, all stores near the restaurant, as well as the parking lot near the buildings.

Officers searched Starbucks as well as the other adjacent buildings, but found no evidence of an explosive device.

At 5 p.m. the officers allowed shoppers and workers back into the buildings.
