Many local groups came out to show support for Earth Day at the Morris Lawrence building of WCC. The organizations that attended included Recycle Ann Arbor, the Ypsilanti Food Co-op, the Leslie Science and Nature Center and the Ann Arbor Water Treatment Center.

The Eastern Michigan Marching Band joined in on the Thanksgiving Day events in Detroit’s annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade. Marching down Woodward, the band performed their repertoire of songs first amongst other marching bands hailing from high schools from around the Detroit Metro-Area. Happy Thanksgiving EMU!
Jeff Daniels swung by campus last Tuesday to share some of his new music on the airwaves with WEMU as well as promote his upcoming performance at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor. Jeff Daniels & Friends is an annual holiday event that features only musicians that hail from the State of Michigan. This year’s performance is to be held Saturday, November 28 at 8pm.
On October 20th, EMU participated in National Day on Writing, an event part of the National Writing Project. Several writing workshops and activities were held.

This month in Halle Library is a celebration of the life and work of the 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. In the main corridor of the library 5 walls stand with a separate theme for each. The first is about Lincoln and his life, and the other four focusing on the division and reunification of our country, specifically focusing on our nation’s struggle with slavery and civil rights. Books on Lincoln’s life are also present, promoting further study of the topic. In the back of the library one can find war atlases and maps of the civil war and its battles. The exhibition will run until the end of this month.
