Undocumented aliens find dissatisfaction with Obama’s effort for their community
Immigrant’s rights groups are mad at President Obama and his fellow Democrats. They’re irritated the president is filling his daily schedule with silly things like health care, the economy and the War on Terror. What he should be focusing on is fast-tracking legislation to legalize the undocumented immigrants already inside the borders. Are they serious?
A recent Washington Post article quoted immigrant advocates such as Brent Wilkes of the League of United Latin American Citizens, who “feel betrayed” by the Obama Administration for not delivering new immigration legislation.

These “betrayed” advocates are threatening to bring thousands of likewise disappointed demonstrators to protest in D.C. on March 21. That just seems like a really bad idea to me. Why would anyone openly admit illegal immigrants would be at a specific place on a specific day? If someone calls the Metro Police, all those illegal immigrants could be arrested and deported. It seems counterproductive for their cause.
These illegal immigrants and supporters have also sworn they will make the democrats pay in the upcoming midterm elections. Emma Lozano, the executive director of the advocacy group Centro Sin Fronteras, actually went on record with the threat of “No legalization. No reelection.”
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression illegal immigrants were not allowed to vote. How much power do they actually think they have? And what makes these people think a Republican-controlled Congress will be any more open to passing illegal immigrant friendly legislation?
I understand this country was founded on the idea of an “open-door policy” and welcomed the poor and the persecuted who are searching for a better life. But when laws are broken, I lose sympathy and understanding for those who sneak in and then demand fairness.
Immigrants fake documents and cross borders in secret to come to the United States. When they skip all the legal steps to gain citizenship and entry into the country, they should not get a free pass.
These advocates are demanding President Obama completely rewrite the immigration laws, wipe the slate clean and grant citizenship to all those who broke the rules to get here.
That sounds like a great idea. Let’s reward those who ignored the laws and keep the people waiting in line to get here the right way waiting even longer. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy here, or is it just me?
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, February stats still showed the country with more than a 9 percent unemployment rate. Why should the president push through legislation making it easier for undocumented immigrants to get jobs when citizens can’t find work? That will only hurt the country, and not help it.
Supporters are also waving the flag of betrayal, because the government had a record number of deportations in 2009. This might sound cold but I’m sorry, if you’re here illegally, you deserve to be sent home.
The government spends way too much money paying for public education, with illegal students occupying seats and immigrants using free clinics. The money could be used in a million different ways to fix our other problems. Illegal immigrants cost the country too much money, even when we deport them.
According to a Washington Post article, White House officials said the president planned a meeting to discuss “fixing our broken immigration system.” But what makes these advocates think these changes will be in their favor? A change in the policies could swing in the opposite direction, making it harder for illegal immigrants to gain citizenship, rights and find work.
These people are called “illegal immigrants” for a reason; it’s illegal for them to be here. We should not reward them – and make it easier for them to be here – we should tighten down the existing laws and prosecute those who choose to ignore them. There is a level of arrogance in foreigners who believe they are above the laws of a country they want to inhabit. We shouldn’t make it any easier for them to take advantage of our resources and our opportunities when so many others want to move here and go through process the right way.

I for one, am sick and tired of these illegal aliens snubbing their nose at our immigration laws and the many other laws of this Country. If our Federal Government can not ENFORCE our immigration laws, and get these illegal aliens out of this Country, then let the States do it! One way or another, an end has to come to this illegal immigration, and not with AMNESTY! And don’t forget about Craigslist, there are so many janitorial cleaning services, janitorial companies, housekeepers, yard workers and etc postings by illegal immigrants on Craigslist. Why because it is free and they post daily doing jobs for nothing and Americans are hiring them, espcially in this recession economy and Congress passing the minimum wages up last 2009, that did it.
What needs to be done is they need to change the janitorial licensing requirements than just a business license. That needs to change, we need to make them account their employees yearly and they can’t get insurance without new specific requirements or their license with be defaulted for example and also so it will be illegal for customers to hire with those requirements. I am going to Sacramento to change the janitorial requirements, as California is loaded with illegal alien janitorial companies. Sad story.

To Hannah Schwab, the US was NOT founded on the premise of an open door policy, it was founded on the rights and freedoms of citizens, on the rule of law. You need to crack open a history book, and stop confusing the bit of poetry written by Emma Lazarus and placed on the statue of liberty, with the constitution.
You’re right that illegals have no right to vote, in fact they don’t have civil rights, those are for citizens only. The problem is that corrupt politicians are allowing illegals to vote, and that needs to be stopped, by citizens demanding that all voters be forced to present id at the polls, to prevent illegals from gaming our system.

And how do you know they are working at jobs no body wants. When ever there have been raids, U.S. workers showed up in droves to apply. If I may speak again?
I’ve been reading the comments that have been posted here, and I think it’s starting to get out of hand. Yes, it’s true, immigrants work hard, so it may seem convenient that once they’re done doing all the crappy jobs some would want them to lead, BUT! What some who think that way don’t realize is that they’re also getting lots of breaks that the actual citizens, whether born here of citizens or legally immigrating, do not get; in fact, in some ways they are being treated BETTER than that actual citizens.
By all means, people from other countries should come here, to this land of opportunity. They should get good jobs, be paid at least legal minimum wage, have their children go to our schools and become what they want to be, be it scientists or artists or ballet dancers or football stars or WHATEVER! but just, please, do it legally. They should legally come into this country, follow the laws, (not to mention make an effort to learn the language, that’s appreciated) and not have their children across the border just so that they can get around the citizenship laws, because believe it or not THAT DOES HAPPEN.
Other countries would want the same courtesy from American immigrants. If you’re going to move to another country, follow the laws and learn the language, right? Common courtesy at the least.

I am an immigrant. Although I came here legally. Waited my time inside my native country for about 16 years. Paid all expenses that came with this trip too (visas, medical exams and many other I fail to recall.) Found a job, went to college, got my degree. I become naturalized U.S. citizen two years ago (which is another $1000.) I or rather my parents did everything by the book so reading this article is truly disgusting. I say round them up (well they did already themselves) and get them out. Confiscate their possessions and lets pay off national debt.

They can’t get them, but their American born children do. An American born child immediately improves the parents finances. Free medical care and food for the child to begin with. One less responsibility for the illegal immigrant parent, one more financial burden for the U.S.

I have friends that have been here since they were 5 years old, now they have graduated from college in the U.S. They are undocumented, because they were brought here by their parents escaping for political asylum reasons. If you look at the asylum judges records, its ridiculous. You have strict judges with a 5% approval rate and then you have a Judge with 95% approval rate. The whole political asylum case depends on the which judge you get, not whether you really have been persecuted. Now, this 5 years old who is now 25, has graduated college here, has no fault what so ever, needs to be punished????? To Greg , smarten up, go do some real work, and stop complaining.
