If any of the people arrested, are patients and/or caregivers, under the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, and the amount of cannabis in their possession was reasonable or within the amounts set in section 4 of the Act, there should have been no arrests, or forfeiture of the medicine or the paraphernalia they may have possessed.

For those who are registered voters in Michigan, be prepared for the elections in November. Go to repealtoday.org and help to end marijuana prohibition.

Readers need to be aware of Jury Nullification and how to use it to help abolish marijuana laws. It worked with alcohol prohibition and it will work here.

EMU doesn’t turn marijuana charges over to Ypsilanti, who wrote this article. Seriously do your homework. EMU has a fully sworn police department and handles all their own cases. EMU would never hand a narcotics arrest to the Ypsilanti Police department.

Okay but what about the other two incidents? Were they not on campus? That’s what the reporting seems to indicate. Why would EMU police be making cannabis busts off-campus? Inquiring minds wanna know.

Because Kenk if you visit EMU PD’s website you will see that EMU police have full jurisdiction in the city of Ypsilanti, so a traffic stop on Cross Street or Huron River Drive is considered off campus and a marijuana arrest would also be considered off campus in such a location. I realize you aren’t very intelligent but lets do a little research before posting nonsense.

ps.

Ignorance isn’t an excuse for terrible reporting nor is it an excuse for misunderstanding. The Echo should be teaching it’s reporters to fact check and it’s readers should be holding this rag to a standard. EMU PD must police campus and the areas surrounding campus to help keep EMU a safe place to study, work and visit. This newspaper does a disservice to our law enforcement officers when it posts garbage without doing any fact checking. In the future I recommend sending your articles to the people you are reporting on to find any mistakes.

Like too many “news stories” these days, sensational headlines that the story cannot support.
