Baseball moves home opener to Wednesday

The Eastern Michigan university baseball team has moved its home opener to Wednesday, Eagles’ coach Jay Alexander announced.

Eastern will play the Spartans at Oestrike Stadium at 5 p.m.

EMU (5-9) was scheduled to play Michigan State University on its road trip to Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala., but the game was canceled due to weather.

MSU (8-4) is coached by former Eastern coach Jake Boss. He and the Eagles won a Mid-American Conference Tournament title and NCAA regional bid in 2008.
