  • Women lose in MAC quarterfinals The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost to the University of Akron, 72-46, in the quarterfinals of the Mid-American Conference Tournament Wednesday night in Cleveland, Ohio.
  • Anthropology professor talks of music in Arab community The last event of the “Perspectives on the Middle East” lecture series took place on Monday. Ted Swedenburg, anthropology professor at the University of Arkansas, lectured about youth and popular music in the Arab community.

  • Eagles move on in MAC tournament
    The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team is off to Cleveland, after defeating Northern Illinois University, 65-59, Sunday at the Convocation Center in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.
  • Ypsilanti District Library to build teen-only section The Ypsilanti District Library is preparing to add a new section catered specifically towards teenagers and young adults. “Teen Zone” is a project both library visitors and library officials consider to be important.

2010 Chinese Week Kick-off Gala

Several performances were held last Sunday during the 2010 Chinese Week kick off gala, held in the EMU student center ballroom. The event was hosted by Mei Hua Tong Xue Hui, or the American Chinese Students Association.
