Lorraine Hansberry’s revolutionary play, “A Raisin in the Sun,” was put on by Eastern Michigan University Theatre earlier this month. The play focuses on one African American family’s struggle to overcome their circumstances in Chicago in 1959. Its themes of racial and income inequality and of seeking a better life in a new place are extremely relevant today.

In the month of January, the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Xi Chapter here at Eastern not only celebrate their Founder’s Day (Jan.15) and Charter Day (Jan.22), but they also host their annual Edith Penn Scholarship Ball. This year’s ball was held Thursday, January 26th in the McKenny Hall Ballroom.
“Offerings” by EMU fine arts senior, Nichole Klein is on display in the Student Art Gallery, room 236.
