Eastern Echo's Weekly Playlist: Dec. 9, 2019

(12/08/19 6:52pm)

Atmospheric sounds intermingle with soft words to create a relaxed environment. Worries fade into the background, and there is nothing to do, besides listen and enjoy. This weeks playlist is trance-like. I suggest setting aside time to listen to it, and then immersing yourself into the noise.

Opinion: Michigan’s problem with Ohio State is much deeper than a talent gap

(12/07/19 2:50am)

Last weekend, “The Game” was played between The University of Michigan and The Ohio State University. This game is heralded as the best rivalry in all of sports, but lately it’s been less of a rivalry and more of an annual vicious beating by Ohio State.

Opinion: Politicians should refocus on state-level innovations in health care

(12/03/19 4:47pm)

With the limited probability that a national health care program will pass Congress regardless of 2020 electoral victories, it could be beneficial to look at how individual states are innovating in health care as “laboratories of democracy.”

Advice: Five tips to get through family events this holiday season

(11/27/19 9:20pm)

With the holidays coming up, many of us are stressing about being around our families and the upcoming questions and judgment. However, you can survive family events this holiday season with these five tips: First, don’t sweat the small stuff. It is okay if everything does not go perfectly. Forgot the six types of cheese everyone likes? Don’t sweat it. You’ll find the holidays much more relaxing when you don’t worry about pleasing everyone. If you find yourself worrying about every little thing, take the time to relax and breathe. Not everything has to be done the same way your parents or your grandparents did it. Everyone burns a pie now and then, and your house does not need to be perfectly decorated for everything to be okay. No matter whether everything is perfect, it will be okay.
