Eastern Michigan University senior wide receiver Hassan Beydoun has been named to the 2022 Biletnikoff Award and 2022 Maxwell Award watch lists. Officially announced by the Maxwell Football Club and the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Beydoun is one of five Mid-American Conference (MAC) receivers named to the Biletnikoff Award's 42-man list and one of six MAC players named to the Maxwell Award's 85-man list.
Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team (8-11, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) hosted Miami University (9-10, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center on Saturday, Jan. 29. The first meeting of the season between the Eagles and RedHawks resulted in a 85-75 victory for the Eagles, snapping EMU's four-game losing streak.
The Eastern Michigan basketball team (1-1, 0-0 MAC) clawed back from a 16-point deficit to defeat the Illinois State Redbirds (1-1, 0-0 MVC) in double overtime, 103-98. The win over the visiting Redbirds marks the first official home win for the Eastern Michigan Eagles under 1987 alumnus and first-year Head Coach, Stan Heath.
“It’s funny, I always wanted to be the head coach at Eastern Michigan. When I was at Michigan State, we won the national championship in the year 2000 and the head coaching position opened at Eastern Michigan, and I really thought I was going to get that job. I didn’t get the job… and it broke my heart, it hurt.”
