While some people can be pretty picky, I’m an adventurous eater and love trying dishes from a variety of different cultures, something I got from my mother who has been introducing me to food around the world since I was young.

Rising costs of attendance at EMU is known to all students, those who receive Pell Grants and those who do not alike. I have donated, volunteered, shopped at, and worked at Swoop’s Food Pantry since I was a Freshman at EMU, which has helped me save money that I can instead put towards tuition.

At EMU, many student services were placed in difficult position as COVID-19 continues to affect all aspects of life. Among these services, Swoop’s Pantry, located at 104 Pierce Hall, experiences an increase in the use of their services and adjustment to social distancing practices.

I was in downtown Ypsi last week and walking out of a poetry slam event at the Riverside Arts Center with a friend when I realized how hungry I was. Being in the downtown area and being a vegetarian, I couldn’t really think of any good go-to restaurants that wouldn’t be super expensive.
