On the same day that Lil Uzi Vert’s greatly anticipated album, “Eternal Atake” was released, Uzi took to twitter to tease a deluxe version to the album. With only about seven hours passed since the initial albums release, Uzi tweeted at multiple collaborators- the likes of Young Thug, Future, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Lil Baby.
The most talked about movie of the year is one nobody’s seen yet. #TheHuntMovie opens in theaters Friday the 13th of March. #DecideForYourself
Music is one of those things that almost everyone has the ability to connect with. Everyone might have different tastes in music, but having the ability to find love and a connection with some type of music is a bond that most form with music.
Everyday it seems like the current situation that we are living in is getting worse. We wake up and it seems like the current situation has escalated so much more from the day before. We are constantly wondering when we will finally hit the worst of it, and we all find ourselves wondering when things will start to slow down again and start to go back to normal.
Columbian R&B artist Jessie Reyez’ has just dropped her debut studio album titled Before Love Came to Kill Us and it is definitely super “Dope.” The new LP, released March 27, includes 14 tracks of raw emotion and sound that demonstrate the artist’s unique style even more than her previous work did.
Throughout the past few weeks life as we know it has been drastically changed. Movie theatres, gyms, and restaurants have all been forced to close in one way or another, making life dull and lonely to some during our time in quarantine.
After years of cuts to public health funding during the Obama and Trump administrations, the United States was primed to suffer at the hands of COVID-19 come early January. While funding has been approved to provide free testing and paid sick leave, 87 million Americans are still uninsured or underinsured. Many Americans work jobs where they don’t receive sick leave, and still go to work when they’re sick in order to pay their bills. Many of these workers, like food service workers, retail and grocery workers, are still working right now- they’re considered essential. It’s extremely ironic that these essential workers don’t receive benefit
s or a living wage.
While being stuck in the house isn’t very fun, you can always brighten up your day with some good music. From soft pop to R&B and rap, there are tons of artists still coming out with new music during this scary pandemic. Here are a few of my recommendations to add to your quarantine playlist:
This is the second article in a series covering the candidates for EMU student body president and vice president. As such, this is not an endorsement by the Echo editorial staff.
Lil Uzi Vert dropped his extremely awaited album “Eternal Atake” on Friday, Mar. 6. The album had been teased since the release of Uzi’s last studio album, “Luv Is Rage 2” which was released in Aug. 2017.
It’s official: Eastern Michigan University has shifted fully online for the remainder of the winter semester. Emails from the office of the president encourage residents in EMU dorms and apartments to return to their permanent residences, some of those being in majority rural or semi-rural areas.
After former Vice Pres. Joe Biden’s big win in Michigan, it looks unlikely that Sen. Bernie Sanders will face Pres. Donald Trump. On Feb. 22, things looked different. Sanders had just won the Nevada caucus by more than 25 points. The centrist vote was split between Biden, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg. As long as these three candidates remained in the race until after Super Tuesday, things were looking good for Sanders.
Going into election night, Michigan was considered a must-win for Sanders. Many of his surrogates and pundits/pollsters pointed to his 2016 upset, suggesting it could very well happen again. Others weren’t so sure. I fell solidly into the latter category.
In 2018, Michigan cemented its status as a state to look at for electoral reforms, as all three 2018 referenda passed handily. While Proposal 1 legalized recreational marijuana in the state, Proposals 2 and 3 addressed such issues as gerrymandering and voter access, both passing with over 60 percent “yes" votes.
After making yet another historic comeback to music with his latest album, Eminem dropped a new music video that blows ‘stans’ minds. The new visual is for “Godzilla,” the highest charting single from new album “Music to Be Murdered By,” delivered on March 9. Directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s videographer Cole Bennett, you can expect a very entertaining story from the mind of Slim Shady.
The day the Hillary docuseries appeared on Hulu - Friday, March 6 - was the day it fell in my “Recommended” list. Is anyone surprised?
I was in downtown Ypsi last week and walking out of a poetry slam event at the Riverside Arts Center with a friend when I realized how hungry I was. Being in the downtown area and being a vegetarian, I couldn’t really think of any good go-to restaurants that wouldn’t be super expensive.
"Sonic the Hedgehog," the video game-to-film adaptation, flew into theatres on Feb. 14, and met great success at the box office, making a whopping $306.5 million so far.
"The Invisible Man," a contemporary adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel of the same name, follows a woman - Cecilia Kass, played by Elisabeth Moss - who, after the apparent suicide of her wealthy but abusive boyfriend, believes she is now being stalked by him.
Lady Gaga seems to be back to eccentricity and weirdness in her new music video for her most recent single “Stupid Love,” released Feb. 27.
