The Eastern Michigan women’s golf team tied Ball State for fourth place in the MAC Championships this weekend at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The men’s team finished in a tie with Nebraska for 10th place out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The women’s track team competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. from April 18-19.

After a fervent final round of play, the Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team finished with a score of 933, including three Eagles placing inside the top 20 at the inaugural Shirley Spork Invitational this past Monday and Tuesday at the Eagle Crest Golf Club.

On day two of the 13th Annual Rio Verde Invitational, Eastern Michigan University women's golf team tied for fifth-place with a score of 604 (303-301) at Rio Verde Country Club’s Quail Run Course on Saturday. Thelma Beck tied for fourth in the second round with an overall two-day total of 147 (72-75). Karyn Lee Ping led overall for EMU shooting a 72 and tying for 16th at 150 (78-72), while Lois Schoof’s second round score of 73 tied for 49th at 155 (82-73). Kelsey Murphy, fourth for Eastern, tied for 64th with an overall of 157 (75-82) and Kylie Raines secured 77th with 159 (78-81). With a team total 594 (296-298), Seton Hall led day two. Erin McClure leads overall with a 144 (71-73). Two shots behind the Pirates, Toledo carries a score of 596 (301-295). The Rio Verde Invitational comes to a close on Sunday, March 15. Eastern Michigan University sophomore Brett White was added to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference honorable mention list when the conference announced its men’s golf scholastic honors, June 4. White, who plans on majoring in supply chain management, boasts a 3.49 GPA. This is the first year he has been eligible for the accolade.

Eastern Michigan University’s men’s golf team smashed their way into a sixth place finish at the Rutherford Invitational in University Park, PA. The Eagles were looking to improve after finishing in last place at the Kepler Intercollegiate tournament last weekend before they head to the MAC Championship in Carmel, Ind. The Eagles shot 881 as a team on the par 71, 7,202-yard Penn State University Blue Course, April 19-20.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team competed in the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio over the weekend. They finished in 15th place overall, shooting 926 as a team. This marks their lowest placement of the season.

Women’s Golf grabbed a 2nd place finish this weekend at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational. This marks their third top- five finish of the season, and their second top five finish in the last two tournaments.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team nabbed a top-10 finish at the University of Arkansas Little Rock Golf Classic. The tournament was held in Hot Springs, Ark. over a two-day period, March 24-25.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team competed in the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate tournament from March 23-25. The team played some of its best golf all season, finishing in seventh place out of the 27 teams participating in the tournament, shooting 879 as a team.
