EMU Soccer’s Kate Robinson named MAC Freshman of the Year
The month of November has finally rolled around, and for Mid-American Conference (MAC) fans, it’s the best time of the year. That's right, never fear, because midweek MACtion is here as the Eastern Michigan University football team travels to the Glass Bowl for a date with the University of Toledo.
The Washtenaw Area Transportation Study (WATS) will be hosting meetings for the public to review projects that have been submitted for consideration as part of the 2050 Long Range Plan, a long-term list of projects critical for securing federal funds for state and local projects. Located in Ann Arbor WATS is a group of governmental agencies in Washtenaw County charged with coordinating transportation planning for our area.
The Michigan Firehouse Museum and Education Center is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a Fireman’s Ball on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the museum. The Fireman’s Ball is not only a fundraiser for the museum, but a fun event where all, members and the general public, are welcome. The dress code is “boots, black ties, and bling.”
Arthouse indie studio A24, known for films such as “Midsommar” and “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” has released their latest film “Priscilla.” The film is a biopic following Priscilla Presley, the wife of Elvis Presley, and their entire relationship from their first meeting to their divorce.
On Nov. 3 at 5 p.m. in Downtown Ypsilanti, customers pile into Stone and Spoon. Inside they enjoy a gallery of local artwork, and samples of spreads from Gus & Grey. Outside the store others take part in The Sheepish Chef’s mini gingerbread house kits. This is one of the many events of First Fridays Ypsilanti.
Eastern Michigan University’s Digital Divas program is returning for its 13th annual Digital Divas STEM Conference. Hosted by EMU’s extended programs and the GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology, the conference takes place on Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom.
As the winter season approaches, staying healthy is a top priority for many. To help, Corner Health Center in Ypsilanti is hosting a flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Friday, Nov. 3 from 5-6 p.m. In addition, a “Wonderland” free family photo event will take place at the same time.

Sunshine and 50-degree weather were the highlight of the day for the fans that packed Rynearson Stadium for a Michigan MAC title battle between Eastern Michigan University and Western Michigan University.

Eastern Michigan University selected Gary Torgow to serve as commencement speaker at the university’s ceremony on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2023. The fall commencement takes place at the George Gervin GameAbove Center beginning at 9:30 a.m.
