Week 6 Preview: Eastern Michigan heads to play Central Michigan on the road

With the bye week behind them, head coach Chris Creighton and the Eagles now set their sights on the Chippewas of Central Michigan. Eastern Michigan is looking to win its second straight game over the Chippewas after a 17-7 victory last season.

Boubacar Toure is set to make an impact for the Eagles after major improvements

Eastern Michigan’s men’s basketball team has seen many additions to the program in recent years and Boubacar Toure has been one to standout amongst the rest. The Senegal native is a 7’0” center who made his way to EMU in 2018. Before his arrival to Eastern Michigan, Toure played collegiate basketball at Grand Canyon University. He started his career as a redshirt freshman during the 2015-16 season.

Reviewing the first month of the Eagles football season

The Eastern Michigan Eagles hold the best record in the Mid-American Conference at 3-1 after one month of play. This is just the second time in head coach Chris Creighton's tenure in Ypsilanti that the Eagles have gotten off to such a start. The Eagles have wins over Coastal Carolina, Illinois and Central Connecticut State. The loss was on the road against Kentucky.

Mickey Rewolinski announces commitment to Eagles

Mickey Rewolinski announced his commitment to the Eastern Michigan football team via Twitter on Sunday, Sept. 22. Rewolinski is a 3-star offensive lineman and defensive end for Union Grove High School in Wisconsin who will be joining the Eagles as an offensive lineman.

EMU wide receiver stays humble despite a strong start to his 2019 campaign

Wide receiver Dylan Drummond leads all Eastern Michigan receivers with 19 receptions as the team finished their non-conference schedule with a 3-1 record just four games into his sophomore season. Drummond has become an essential part of the Eagles' offense by forming great chemistry with senior quarterback Mike Glass III, but the wide receiver still isn't satisfied.

Eastern Michigan football wins home opener in thrilling fashion

Eastern Michigan held a 28-15 lead over the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils with just over 11 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. However, after allowing a one-yard touchdown run by Keonte Lucas and a 68-yard strike from Aaron Winchester to Tyshaun James, the Eagles found themselves staring at a one point deficit with just 20 seconds remaining. That is until Matthew Sexton made the game-winning play.

EMU women's basketball finalizes 2019-20 roster

Eastern Michigan University’s Women’s Basketball team has an updated roster going into the 2019-20 season. The current 14-player roster consists of two freshmen, one transfer and 11 returning players. The Eagles picked up freshmen guards Aaliyah Stanley and Constance Chaplin in the off season.

Around the MAC: Eagles tied for first place in West

Heading into the final week of the non-conference portion of the schedule for the Eastern Michigan football team and the rest of the MAC, both divisions of the conference are tight from top to bottom. None of the 14 teams are undefeated but three programs lead the way with a 2-1 record. Those teams are Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan. The Eagles are fresh off an upset victory over then-undefeated Illinois.

Eagles women’s soccer team falls to Ball State on the road

The Eastern Michigan women’s soccer team fell to the Ball State Cardinals at Briner Sports Complex in Muncie, Ind. on Sunday, Sept. 29. Ball State jumped out to a 2-1 lead at halftime before the Eagles tied the game in the second half. The Cardinals would go onto win 3-2 in overtime. Sarah Ash scored a goal for the Eagles while Rebecca Przybylo had four saves.

Eagles volleyball defeats Purdue-Fort Wayne in four sets

The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team squared off against Purdue-Fort Wayne on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The Eagles came into the game with a 3-5 record, hoping to improve that in the last game of the Michigan Challenge. Purdue-Fort Wayne came into the game with a 3-8 record and had Eastern Michigan as the last game of their Dunn Hospitality Tournament. Purdue-Fort Wayne was 1-2 in their last three games coming into the match.

Week 4 Preview: Eagles take on Blue Devils in home opener

The Eastern Michigan Eagles have a chance to accomplish something that has only been done once in head coach Chris Creighton's tenure with the team, which is starting the season with a 3-1 record. The Eagles will have a chance to do so when they face Central Connecticut State on Saturday Sept. 21 at Rynearson Stadium in the home opener.

Eastern Michigan volleyball played Navy Sept. 14 at the Convocation Center. Eastern came into this game with a 3-3 record, fresh off of a 3-0 rout of McNeese State to end the Sawyer Camillo Memorial Classic.

Former Eagles players face each other in the NFL
