To Whom It May Concern,
What attributes of a university does every incoming freshman look for when choosing a college to attend?
Dear Mr. Hendricks,
As an alumnus, former walk-on football player and sports editor of The Eastern Echo, I am almost speechless when looking at the state of the Eastern Michigan University athletic department as it pertains to the revenue sports of football and basketball.
Dear EMU community,
In the Echo’s recent article on the proposed legislation to allow the carrying of weapons on campus, a variety of critics voiced their concerns. As a supporter of this bill, I would like to address those points. First, to Police Chief O’Dell, who said, “Say you have a situation where officers are pulling up and everyone has guns. There’s no way of telling who the bad guys are.”
Dear Editor,
I am a student worker at one of the computer labs in Halle Library. I have been here about three years and have witnessed a lot of sick people using the computers on a daily basis. But what I saw really concerned me, especially with the all the new H1N1 worries.
Between September 24th and 26th I was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania covering the G-20 Summit resistance movement as an independent journalist. I’m still trying to fully grasp what transpired during those days. Shortly after my arrival, I was swept into a mess of defiant energy, tension, fear, and violence.
My attention was brought to something very disturbing the other day. The Eastern Michigan University hockey team has new posters for the 2009-2010 season. Rather than displaying pictures of the team or coaches, they depict our female classmates in nothing more than hockey jerseys and heels.
I would like to voice a response to the article titled “A rude new world” under B5’s Opinions. I do understand these are … ‘opinions’; however, I’d like to kindly disagree with this article with one of my own.
