The Eastern Michigan University mens’ track and field team won its second consecutive Mid-American Conference Indoor Championship on Saturday, Feb. 26, inside the Kent State Field House. EMU would total a score of 166 and edge the University of Akron, who finished in second place with a score of 156, to hoist the trophy.
On Friday, Jan 14, Eastern Michigan track & field claimed victories at the Akron Quad Meet in the Stile Athletics Field House. Eastern Michigan men’s team scored a 163, over Akron’s 123 and Buffalo’s 113. The women’s team final score of 165 claimed victorious over Akron's 156 and Buffalo's 118.
Eastern Michigan track & field program began their 2021-22 season Dec. 3 at Grand Valley State University where the Eagles participated in their first meet of the season.
The Eastern Michigan women’s track team ran away with five titles while at home hosting the Can Am Classic on Saturday, Jan. 25 in Bowen Field House. One of the seniors and co-captains Brittni Mason from Ohio, came close to beating her season best time in the 60-meter dash of 7.55.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles women’s track team traveled to Saginaw Valley State University for the Doug Hansen Open on Friday, Jan. 17. The Eagles competed in 11 events, including the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, 800-meter dash, 60-meter hurdles, the one-mile run and much more.
The Eastern Michigan women’s track team continued their indoor season nearby at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. This is known as the Wolverine Invitational where 10 different schools participated, including the Eagles. To start off the field events Sophomore Nina Ward took fourth place in the long jump with a jump of 5.54 meters.
The Eastern Michigan women’s golf team tied Ball State for fourth place in the MAC Championships this weekend at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The men’s team finished in a tie with Nebraska for 10th place out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The women’s track team competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. from April 18-19.
Eastern Michigan’s men’s and women’s track and field teams competed in the Tennessee Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. from April 11-13. Derek Ziegenfuss had the best performance from both teams after he shattered EMU’s school record in the javelin throw event on day two of the relays.

Eastern Michigan men’s track and field finished in second place with 153.5 points in the final day of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships in Kent, Ohio.
Eastern Michigan University’s men’s track and field team competed in day one of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships in Kent, Ohio on Feb. 22, finishing in second place with 32 points, tour points behind first place Akron.
