While sitting on my couch watching Michigan’s season opener against Minnesota, I couldn’t help but feel like the team I was watching was much different than years past. Both sides of the ball played with speed and aggression while still keeping their cool under pressure. Joe Milton looked as calm as a 4th year starter, and while the defense wasn’t perfect, they made huge plays when it mattered. I can’t help but to be intrigued with what the rest of the schedule has to offer them, especially with Wisconsin being a big question mark at the moment with their COVID-19 issues.

In a press release Friday, the Eastern Michigan Athletic Department announced that in conjunction with the Mid-American Council of Presidents the school will play a six-game football season beginning in November. The season will end with a championship game on “Dec. 18 or 19.” The MAC has not released a schedule yet.

The 2020 NFL season is set to get underway Thursday, Sept. 10, when the defending Super Bowl Champions, Kansas City, take on the Houston Texans. A full slate of NFL games will follow on Sunday and Monday night, which has me almost drooling. Fans, including myself, have been so starved for football that this Thursday feels like an actual holiday.

On Aug. 26, the Milwaukee Bucks announced that they would not play their upcoming playoff game in order to protest the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Soon, other teams followed suit, postponing all three playoff games scheduled for that day. Luke and Caleb discuss the impact of the boycott, as well as recent results of both the Eastern and Western Conferences.
