Drums to hold the beat, bass to create the rhythm, guitar to make you bob your head, the occasional piano and strings to compliment the singer, and the voice that becomes the center of attention as soon as it's introduced. Between Luke's tongue roles and Adam's glissandos, The Struts have found a way to mesh the sound of English rock bands from the past with a unique ego that only The Struts can pull off.
I was a freshman in college when I first saw the viral hashtag float up on my Facebook feed. It wasn’t a reposted article, or some famous person I’d never met before. It was a friend from high school, and her story wouldn’t be the last.
The term “broke college student” is one that the 18-25-year-old knows far too well. The jobs we work primarily pay minimum wage, our hours leave something to be desired, and we have to worry about paying for school, paying for housing, paying bills, paying books, and paying and paying and paying. Not only does it feel like being in college leads to a loss of money, but to a loss of friendships as well. How can these relationships be rekindled? Through home cooking.

Many college students are all too familiar with how convenient cheap fast food is. It doesn’t need to taste good. It only needs to be easy on the wallet and filling enough to get me through my day. What’s my go-to? The Golden Arches. Not only do broke college students know the taste of a Big Mac, fries and a Coke all too well. McDonald's is also a spot to make a few extra dollars while going to school. However, McDonald's has recently been under fire by its employees due to low wages and now, sexual harassment.

Edith Munro of the Times Union writes about redistricting in Iowa. “For most Americans, redistricting is a study in bare knuckles partisanship as political parties battle for the advantage that comes from reorganizing congressional and state legislative districts. Not in Iowa.”
The ever-voracious appetite for nostalgia that has engulfed American media over the last decade has led to the resurrection and remaking of several television programs and calls for reunions of now-defunct musical groups. “The Nostalgia Factor” has so far seen varying results in the world of American cinema, with classic films such as “Wall Street” and the “Indiana Jones” franchise releasing sequels decades after their predecessors. These films were met with a lukewarm reception from viewers and critics alike. Looking to break this mold, “Blade Runner 2049” seeks to please viewers 35 years after the release of Ridley Scott’s original “Blade Runner” in 1982.

Let me lay down the facts like it is; the Tony Hawk games are the best sports video games ever made. Sorry FIFA, Madden, NBA, and all other competitors, no other sports video game franchise has mastered fun, addictive gameplay, controls, mechanics, and soundtrack like the birdman has. Even though the franchise has fallen from grace thanks to various crappy games, once upon a time, they were considered some of the greatest games ever made. They helped shaped the childhoods of many kids in the early 2000’s, including myself. That is why I am writing this tribute to the franchise right now. Let’s start with some history.
