When I was 16, my grandparents were in the early throes of Alzheimer’s disease. My family and I decided it’d be best that they move in with us, so we could give them the support they needed. While I originally considered studying nutrition in college, after being a caregiver for my grandparents, I decided to pursue nursing for my undergraduate degree. While in school, I also worked formally in residential long-term care, first as an aide, and then as a nurse case manager after graduating. My primary role was helping cognitively impaired adults navigate their healthcare and facilitating access to needed services.

Hearing the lyrics “don’t try to chase me, he’ll do so much better” usually would not make someone feel relaxed and light on their feet. Yet this new and talented artist from Montana proves otherwise. Unusual Demont, whose real name is Demontcea Howard, has just released his EP titled “Hues” which is just as colorful and pleasing to the ears as it sounds.

What is the point of making sequels? Is it always necessary? Well folks, let your trusted Eastern Echo movie critic try to shed some light. Sequels should be made to not only retell parts of the original story, but they should also be used in a way to tell a new story with new character arcs, themes, and adventures. Sequels are needed for certain films, and the originals are crafted in a way to lead the audience to be excited about a sequel.

Suicide and mental health are growing social topics. They are important topics that are especially relevant to our youth these days. 16.5% of teens have a diagnosed mental health condition and are becoming more prone to suicide, which is now the third leading cause of death among teens. This film should be a subtle reminder to watch out for the signs and address them, as well as being there for the people you love the most.
