The league office of the Mid-American Conference West Division announced Eastern Michigan University’s point guard Mike Talley player of the week on Monday. This is a first for the red-shirt senior.

Coming off of a big win in the Michigan/Illinois Challenge, the Eastern Michigan Gymnastics team moved up when the NCAA weekly rankings were released this morning. The Eagles have moved up to 29th in the nation and maintained the first spot in the Mid-American Conference.

The weekly gymnastics rankings were released by the NCAA today. Last week the Eagles were ranked 24th in the nation following a team score of 193.925. This week, the Eagles dropped to 31st in the nation and remained 1st in the Mid-American Conference following a 194.575 meet in Mt. Pleasant.

The Eastern Michigan men’s basketball non-conference schedule has officially wrapped up. The Eagles finished with an 11-2 record including a big win over the University of Michigan and their only two losses were at the hands of Dayton and Michigan State.

Rob Murphy’s Eastern Michigan team had a chance to really shock the world Wednesday night in East Lansing. Coming off a huge win for the program, defeating the University of Michigan, expectations were high to possibly see something that hadn’t happened since 1987. Unfortunately, Murphy’s squad was not able to pull off the upset, but there were some good things to take note of and some not so great.

As the 2015 Eastern Michigan women’s gymnastics team prepares for its season, which starts in January, it will have an exhibition meet against the University of Michigan this Sunday, Dec. 7, at Crisler Center. The exhibition is at 2 p.m. and is free to the public.

The Eastern Michigan men's basketball team defeated Oakland University, 89-77 Monday night. In the second half, Karrington Ward threw down a dunk which made national news. Ward launched over Oakland point guard Kahlil Felder to throw down the dunk and spin on the rim. ESPN placed it as the number one play of the night on SportsCenter. You can watch the play here:
