“Honestly, my classes exhaust me of my energy,” said Eastern Michigan University music student Dasia Zientek. Zientek is enrolled in 12 credits, the minimum for a full-time student, with nine classes. In addition, Zientek is the secretary to an alternative to the academic choir found at EMU: Evergreen.

For decades, animal testing has been helping create medicine and helping students learn. The operations typically result in a large amount of pain. Most animals are sacrificed after an experiment; however, they may be used again. Innocent animals are required to breathe in harmful substances, and they have holes drilled into their skulls. Animals are not allowed to have food or water, and scientists inflict pain on animals including burns, wounds and other injuries. According to Lone Star College, the Draize test and the LD50 test, two of the most often used toxicity tests, are known for the severe agony and suffering they cause to experimental animals.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s golf team traveled to Davidson, NC, to take part in the River Run Collegiate — the team’s second tournament of the 2022-23 season. The 54-hole event consisted of three rounds, two of which being played on Monday, Sept. 19, and a third and final round that was played on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

The Eastern Michigan football team traveled to Tempe, Arizona to take on Arizona State University on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in a late-night valley showdown. The Eagles would beat Arizona State, 30-21.
