EMU Winter Fest 2017

The 2017 Winter Fest was held in Eastern Michigan University's student center. The Winter Fest is an event where numerous student organizations gather to hold information tables for students who have interest in being more involved on campus.

Ypsilanti’s annual holiday market, the DIYpsi Indie Art Fair, celebrated it’s 6th year last Saturday and Sunday at the Riverside Arts Center.

Christmas Carol’d by EMU Theatre

For their fourth play of the season, EMU Theatre put their own spin on the classic Christmas story “A Christmas Carol,” originally written by Charles Dickens, in their production of “Christmas Carol’d.” While remaining faithful to the iconic holiday story, “Christmas Carol’d” (which was re-written by EMU’s own Joseph Zettlemaierand directed by Terry Heck Seibert.

Black Business Expo at EMU

The Black Student Union at EMU presented the Black Business Expo last Thursday night. This brought successful self-starters and entrepreneurs together to share and network with black business leaders.

AMP art fair

Amplifying the Arts Student Organization hosted an arts and crafts fair, called Homemade for the Holidays, on December 1 in the Student Center, featuring arts and crafts created by student artists.

School Buses filled with children and adults lined up alongside Pease Auditorium to see Shakespeare's, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, performed by the EMU Symphony Orchestra and Dance, Friday, at 10:00 a.m.

Depot Town Christmas tree lighting

The Depot Town Association is hosted is annual tree-lighting celebration. During the festivities carolers and everyday Ypsilanti residents bundled up as they awaited for the lighting of the tree in the city's historic Depot Town on Cross St.  At 6 p.m. Santa and Mrs.Clause paid a visit.

Election discussion over dinner at St Luke's

St. Luke's Episcopal Church invited the Ypsilanti and Eastern Michigan University (EMU) community to a festive a dinner where students and beyond could come to a safe place to discuss the election results, respond and move forward.

Hypnotist Chrisjones performs at EMU

Chicago native hypnotist ChrisJones performed in the Eastern Michigan Student Center, Nov. 9. There was a large turnout of students and faculty. Chris Jones started getting into hypnosis at age 23 ia and currently 30-years-old, he does around 150 shows a year that stretch to about 200 days on the road. He tried at stand-up comedy, but it wasn’t for him so he turned it into hypnosis.
