Gora and Jones combine for four hits in 12-7 loss

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-7) baseball team lost their seventh straight game, 12-7, versus North Dakota State on Friday, Feb. 28 at North Charlotte Park in Port Charlotte, Fla. Eastern Michigan’s seven runs is the second most they’ve scored in a game this year but it wasn’t enough to take down the Bison. Nate Jones led the Eagles with two runs batted in.

Timko picks up three hits in loss to Pittsburgh

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-4) men’s baseball team lost their fourth consecutive game, 10-4 versus the Pittsburgh Panthers (5-1) on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Sanford, Fla. The Eagles trailed 3-2 in the middle of the sixth inning but the Panthers scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull away. Justin Meis (0-1) took the loss for EMU.

The Eagles can't complete comeback in 3-2 loss versus Pittsburgh

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-3) baseball team lost 3-2 against Pittsburgh in the first of a three-game series in Sanford, Fla. The Eagles were down three runs until the sixth inning where they scored two runs. With the loss, the Eagles are now just 1-3 on the season after losing a three-game series versus Austin Peay last weekend.

Eagles men's baseball wins season opener versus Austin Peay

The Eastern Michigan men’s baseball team began their season with a victory over Austin Peay on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Raymond C. Hand Park in Clarksville, Tenn. The Eagles were led by Taylor Hopkins, who totaled three hits and four runs in five plate appearances, and Luke McGuire, who earned the win after pitching six innings.

EMU club baseball team hosts Autism Acceptance Game

Eastern Michigan's club baseball team played more than just a game on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as they were playing an Autism Acceptance Game against the University of Michigan. During the game, they sold Autism Awareness ribbons and were able to raise over $500 to donate to the Autism Alliance of Michigan. It was a very close game until Michigan scored twice in the sixth inning, putting them up 4-0 as they won behind a no-hitter from Raj Sharma.

Former EMU head coach Ron Oestrike inducted into hall of fame

Ron Oestrike, who was once a longtime head coach for Eastern Michigan University’s baseball program, will be inducted into the Michigan Baseball Hall of Fame this Saturday. The ceremony will take place Aug. 17 during the Lansing Lugnuts v. Dayton Dragons game at Cooley Law Stadium in Lansing.

Justin Meis' freshman season in review

Eastern Michigan baseball is one month removed from the last time they played, finishing out the 2019 season against Kent State. The Eagles had a 6-21 conference record in a season that featured the young talent that this Eagles team had on the field. Eagles 2019 baseball season in review

The 55-game schedule wrapped up for Eagles' baseball last week when they were swept by Kent State at home. EMU finished with a record of 11-43-1 and 6-21 in conference, which put them at ninth place out of 10 teams in the MAC. There were some young and bright spots on the roster, though, who were producing more and more as the season went on.

EMU baseball falls to Kent State on Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan baseball team was swept by Kent State in the final series of its season. The Eagles finished with a 6-21 record in the MAC and a 7-12 record on their home field. Eastern Michigan celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, May 18 at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti.

EMU baseball team swept by Central Michigan at home

The Eastern Michigan baseball team was swept in a three-game series by rival Central Michigan at Oestrike Stadium over the weekend. The Eagles have now lost eight straight games and are 7-9 at home on the year. In the three games, the Chippewas outscored EMU 22-9 including an 11-1 victory in the series opener.

Eastern Michigan Swept by Ohio in Easter Weekend Series

The Eastern Michigan baseball team lost both doubleheader games to Ohio on Sunday, April 21 at Oestrike Stadium, by score of 8-2 in the first game and 6-3 in the second game. Saturday’s game was rained out and pushed to the following day on Easter to finish the series between the MAC opponents. Ohio won Friday’s game 6-1 over Eastern.

Spring Sports Recap

The Eastern Michigan women’s golf team tied Ball State for fourth place in the MAC Championships this weekend at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The men’s team finished in a tie with Nebraska for 10th place out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The women’s track team competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. from April 18-19.

EMU Baseball Loses Late To Dayton

The Eastern Michigan baseball team lost to Dayton, 4-1 on Tuesday, April 16 at Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti. The Eagles have lost four of their last five games and are just 3-7 in their last 10 outings. Tyler Henry took the win for Dayton as he gave up no runs in four innings pitched.

Eagles Lose On Walk-Off Single

The Eastern Michigan baseball team fell to Oakland, 10-9, at the Oakland Baseball Field in Rochester, MI on Wednesday, April 10. After falling down 5-0, the Eagles came back to take a lead on two separate occasions before allowing a walk-off single. Eastern Michigan is just 4-6 in their last 10 games.

EMU Baseball Wins One Versus Ball State

The Eastern Michigan baseball team finished a three-game weekend series on the road against Ball State with a record of 1-2 after winning the final game of the series on Saturday, April 13 in Muncie, Indiana. The Eagles lost the first two games before upsetting Ball State 7-5 in Game 3.

Eagles Baseball on Wrong End of Comeback

Eastern Michigan baseball gave up an early lead to lose 14-8 against Oakland on April 3 in Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti. The Eagles held an 8-2 lead heading into the top of the eighth inning, but a nine-run inning by Oakland gave them a 11-8 lead and eventually the victory.

EMU Baseball Takes Down Concordia

 The Eastern Michigan baseball team hosted Concordia on Wednesday, March 27, at Oestrike Stadium. It was the second home game of the season for the Eagles and they have won both. EMU defeated Concordia 11-6, a day after a win over Northwestern Ohio.

Spring Sports Recap

 The baseball team got the week started for Eastern Michigan athletics as they hosted Northwestern Ohio on Tuesday, March 26. They faced Concordia the following day while the track and field teams participated in four separate events which began on March 28 and ended two days later.
