EMU Student Affairs Committee discusses Professional Development, Residence Housing Association

During the Student Affairs Committee meeting, the Board of Regents received presentations Thursday, Feb. 7 from the Student Affairs Professional Development, Diversity and Community Involvement (DCI), and Residence Hall Association (RHA). These brief presentations consisted of an overview and updates that each organization has improved to help better the student community here at Eastern.

Board of Regents Educational Committee Meeting

Eastern Michigan University held its Board of Regents Education Policies Committee meeting Thursday, Feb. 7 at 9:45 a.m., one of five committee meetings prior to the full Board of Regents meeting at 1:30 p.m. later that day.

Road to Recovery: Government Shutdown

 One of the longest government shutdowns in our nation’s history has finally ended this past week on Friday, Jan. 25. Both political parties have three weeks until Feb. 15 to roll up their sleeves and come to a consensus over the border security.

Icy Campus Frustrates Students

 Eastern Michigan University students were met with cold temperatures and a slick commute to and through campus with freezing rain hitting that  area in the evening on Jan. 22.

Students React to Nathan Phillips Incident

On Jan. 19 and 20, video clips emerged showing a Native American man, identified as Nathan Phillips, and a group of high schools boys wearing “Make America Great Again” gear involved in a confrontation in Washington D.C. The story was trending on Twitter and quickly went viral, receiving coverage from news outlets all over the country.
