EMU streetball classic: Volume 2

For the start of welcome week at Eastern Michigan, two student organizations, Detroit Does Well and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, hosted their 2nd annual Streetball Classic event on the outside court of EMU campus. The EMU Streetball Classic Volume 2 game consist of both team DDW and team D-Up competing against one another in a game of basketball for this year’s Streetball Classic trophy.

Eagles fall to MSU in game at Comerica Park

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team dropped a matchup against Michigan State Wednesday, 3-2, at Comerica Park in Detroit, Mich. “It’s a lot of fun to be out here and what an opportunity for the guys,” noted EMU manager Mark Van Ameyde.

EMU Names Fred Castro Head Women’s Basketball Coach

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team held a press conference to introduce their new head coach Fred Castro at the EMU President's House Monday morning. "We are incredibly proud to announce Fred Castro as our next head women's basketball coach," EMU Athletic Director Heather Lyke said.

Despite two late rallies in the fifth and eighth innings, it wasn’t enough as the Eastern Michigan baseball team lost to the Michigan Wolverines, 12-4, Tuesday night in Ann Arbor.

EMU football to remain in Mid-American Conference for a "long, long time"

Late Tuesday afternoon, an email was sent out to the Eastern Michigan University community from Interim President Donald Loppnow and all members of the Board of Regents addressing the rumors that have been buzzing the past several days in regards to eliminating football or dropping down to a lower division of the NCAA and dropping out of the Mid-American Conference. In this email, the EMU community was assured that Loppnow and the regents are “please to be a member of an outstanding conference,” and any claims of these rumors are false.

Eagles win in extras against Purdue

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team rallied in extra innings to beat the Purdue Boilermakers 6-5 on Tuesday. Marquise Gill would hit a two-out single in the 10th inning that would drive in the winning run.
