Ford Gallery exhibit brings together art from all over the region

The recent exhibit in the Ford Gallery, Emergence – ’15, brought together graduate art students from all over Michigan to display their artwork here to Eastern Michigan University. Many students found the exhibit to be exceptionally beautiful. Lauren Mleczko, a Fine Arts major at EMU, said “the art is very contemporary and deals with art topics that young people find amusing, the artists mostly use traditional techniques.” The gallery had artwork such as beaded rugs and studded rocks, which gave the gallery a different feel to the artwork.


Campus hot spots

Besides the fact that Eastern Michigan University has a beautiful campus, EMU also has great spots to mingle, learn, and have fun with friends and collogues.


Students tribute king of pop

Audience members were dazzled with songs, dances and costumes honoring the king of pop in the Michael Jackson tribute show “This Is It” held at Eastern Michigan University’s Student Center Auditorium on April 2.


Event celebrates roles of female nurses in the Civil War

On Monday, March 24, an event called “Clara Barton and Susie King Taylor: Pioneering Nurses on the Civil War Battlefield” was held in room 219 at Pray-Harrold. Laura Schultz Pipis, chief executive officer of the Monroe County Chapter of the Red Cross, gave a speech about two woman nurses during the Civil War, Clara Barton and Susie King Taylor.
